Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis infections are on the rise.

Of course, the last thing we need is improved sex education and improved access to prophylactics. If we do that then teens will just have more sex. We should just tell them not to and that will solve all our problems.

I have an admission to make: if two teens are engaging in sexual activities and are taking proactive measures so that they aren't spreading diseases or getting pregnant, why would I care?

A message for the prude squad: sex is great. That's why teens will always have sex. If you give them the tools to make smart decisions, you might find that not only will the rates of unwanted pregnancies decline (and abortions along with it) and not only will the rate of STD infections slow, but you might find more teens making responsible decisions about sex.
