Right now, I'm sort of regretting my decision not use profanity on the blog. From Slashdot, I learned the following ...
It looks like in an act that defies common sense, a bill has been introduced in the South Carolina State Senate that seeks to outlaw the use of profanity. According to the bill it would become a felony (punishable by a fine up to $5000 or up to 5 years in prison) to "publish orally or in writing, exhibit, or otherwise make available material containing words, language, or actions of a profane, vulgar, lewd, lascivious, or indecent nature".
Yes, the Republicans in South Carolina want to make cursing a felony. This is why southern, Christian conservatives are laughed off and dismissed at kooks by all Americans with even the smallest bit of intelligence. I wish this was a joke. It sort of makes you want to organize a vulgar letter writing campaign to the South Carolina Senate.
One more thing, if profanity really does offend you, grow up. There are so many, far more important things to be offended by.
