These days, there's not an awful lot that makes me proud of my home state, Georgia. However, Rep. John Lewis makes me proud. This is a man who spoke at the mall in Washington DC the night that Dr. King delivered the "I Have a Dream" speech. Here, he connects the sacrifices of Dr. King and the civil right movement with the rise of Barack Obama.

Perhaps the most moving part of this video is the opening march with a group of men and women, black and white, singing "We Shall Overcome" as they march. As for the speech itself, it is quiet simply the finest speech you will ever here.

MLK Day Preview
8 Martin Luther King Jr. Videos Preview
Today, we celebrate the life of one of our greatest Americans. There are few Americans in our history whose life was as important as Dr. King. His message of hope and tolerance is as relevant today as it was in the 50s and 60s. I do not believe that race relations in our country have recovered since his assassination in 1968. When you think of the man, don't just marvel at his amazing ability to communicate. Don't just revel in his words. Honor them. Live them.
I'll be posting 8 videos with an MLK theme today. Enjoy.
