Constitutional Amendments

I suppose I don't have any large philosophical opposition to amending the constitution, especially when the amendments are used to advance the cause of civil rights and of democracy. I think that Russ Feingold's proposal for a constitutional amendment that would require special elections to replace a Senate vacancy qualifies. It would be nice to eliminate the electoral college as well, but I'm not holding my breath.
