So, the National Retail Federation does not believe that new laws are needed to prevent death by trampling, such as the incident on Black Friday in New York. Well, of course the businesses are going to oppose any types of regulation. They are, of course, aware of the problem and they are very concerned about it, and because of the market, all will be fine. Stores that don't want bad press will take care of it themselves. The ones that don't risk hurting their business every time a customer dies. The deaths themselves are irrelevant to the issue.

It's hard not to love conservatism at work.
