Saxby's victory means that we will continue to see the slanderous, despicable ads that have been the hallmark of both of Saxby's campaigns. Now, I have no problem with "negative" advertising in political campaigns. I think attacks on your opponents records are an important part of educating the public. It is when those attacks turn into sleazy innuendo, such as suggesting that your opponent coddles child molesters, that you've gone too far and have damaged our political process. When you turn a Vietnam war hero into a terrorist sympathizer, you've exceeded any bounds of human decency. (Hey Saxby, you remember Vietnam, right? The war that you supported but did everything humanly possible to avoid actually having to fight in?)
