It's coming, and the choice for politicians at this point is to get on board, or stand in the way of American progress. As I've often said, I want single payer insurance modeled on the Canadian model, but that is just not possible politically right now. Still, what Obama and the Congressional Democrats are going to accomplish early in the next administration will be remembered along the same lines as Social Security. Universal health care for all Americans will not just save lives, as it most assuredly will, it will also help preserve future prosperity for all generations.
