I love the idea of a "Day Without a Gay" day. (Organizers are trying to organize a day where people call in gay to work, and perform some sort of community service instead that day. The idea is to show how much gay people mean to every profession.) Hopefully, other than the typical right wing radio ranting, there won't be any major backlash considering the current economic conditions. It would not be so good if the day turns into Gay Unemployment Day.
