I have no strong feelings against Obama's retention of Robert Gates as Secretary of Defense. Although it would certainly be my ultimate preference to see a Democrat in the role, I can live with Gates. I know that many in the blogosphere are hyperventilating, but they'll get over it. Obama will be leading the country and his department heads will be executing his policy and decisions, not making them for him. This is what happens when you elect smart, capable leaders instead of the village idiot.
