Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards is British singer/songwriter Billy Bragg's signature tune. On every tour, Bragg adapts the lyrics for the time. The song is always a commentary on current events. I first heard this iteration of the lyrics when my wife and I were fortunate enough to see Bragg in concert in Ireland a few summers ago. While most artists wouldn't include these types of direct attacks on the powers that be during a major television performance, Bragg has big ones and will do as he pleases. Enjoy.
