Cost of Iraq War

8 Graphs Illustrating the Bush Presidency #6

The two great crises of the Bush Administration intersect when you discuss the costs of the War in Iraq. Truth be told, the numbers you see here are rather conservative. Think of the cost for health care for our soldiers who have been wounded both physically and mentally. Think of the cost of replenishing the military with all the equipment that has been destroyed. Think of the fact that we are still spending money on this war. The cost of this war, this mistake, has left our economy vulnerable and has limited the political will that many in Washington need to get us out of this crisis. (We have to spend our way out of it.)
