Religion in America

A few facts from a recent poll of the country's "faithful" ...
  • "71 percent of American adults say they are more likely to develop their own set of religious beliefs than to accept a defined set of teachings from a particular church"
  • 61% of born-again Christians choose their beliefs from different denominations
  • 65% of Christians believe that those who believe other religions can go to heaven.
  • Almost half of the Christians interviewed for the poll do not believe in the existence of Satan.
Most amazingly, 42% of religious Americans believe that even atheists can live eternally.

Are we now ready to dispel the notion that the Republican party and their evangelical friends have a lock on the religious?
