Considering some of the firearm tragedies that take place in this country, this seems relatively minor, and certainly, Mr. Beavers is fortunate not to have been more seriously injured.

Now, I consider myself a firm supporter of the 2nd amendment, but come on, the parents of this four year old should be punished and it should be severe, including a forfeiture of their parental rights. If you want to have a gun in your house, fine. If you want to have a gun in your house when you have kids, fine. However, if you do choose to bring a gun into your house, they you should be held responsible for any "accident" that might occur with your weapon. If you want to eliminate firearm accidents, punish the negligent with jail time.
