The Obama transition team makes another interesting decision. They have decided not to appoint an oil industry executive as Secretary of Energy. They have decided not to appoint a power company executive as Secretary of Energy. They have decided not to appoint someone who has ever served as the CEO of any major organization. They have appointed a scientist.

Best of all, they didn't just appoint any old scientist, they appointed Steven Chu, a Nobel Laureate. His research has been into such things as alternative fuels. You see, when you elect a President who tried to get government to work, sometimes, you get good people appointed to these posts.
