There is simply no reason that major executives in major corporations cannot fly commercial flights in coach. These types of perks and B.S. and have nothing to do with keeping a company successful. They have nothing to do with making a good executive better at their job. They are nothing for than a perk, a status symbol, to show they are better than the rest of us. In this crisis, the fact that these executives continue to fly these private jets is an abomination.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with first class on airplanes. As a traveling computer consultant, I value my upgrades more than my salary. (Well, almost anyway.) Still, let these executives earn their upgrades the same way the rest of us do, by sitting on a list.
Here's what it comes down to for me: I don't hold business executives in high regard simply because they are successful business executives. I don't worship at the cult of business. I can think of nothing that would improve my morale more than knowing my CEO, on a last minute flight to the coast, was stuck in a middle seat near the back of the airplane.
