I'm so sick of listening to religious homophobes talk about how much they love gay people. No, no, no, no. Bigotry is rooted in irrational hatred as much as ignorance. Naturally, the conservative religious community will disavow having played any role in incidents like the one at this link, but you'd have to be pretty damn stupid not to see the correlation between hateful rhetoric in the pulpit and violent hate crimes.
