Sean Quinn at FiveThirtyEight.com is reporting that the host of MSNBC's Hardball, Chris Matthews, is staffing up for a potential run at Arlen Specter's PA Senate seat. It appears that after visiting Georgia and meeting the Obama volunteers on the ground here for Jim Martin, Matthews has decided to throw his hat in the ring. This would be a headline grabbing candidacy for sure.

I think it's safe to say that Matthews would not be my ideal candidate for a variety of reasons. Every word he has ever uttered on television will be thrown back at him, rightly so. It will be interesting to see who faces off against him in the primary. If he were to receive the nomination, he will, of course, have the full support of most of the left leaning world.
