Are we going to pretend that racism isn't alive and well in the South?

Obama gets 10% of the white vote in Alabama.
Obama gets 11% of the white vote in Mississippi.
Obama gets 14% of the white vote in Louisiana.

In most of the country, Obama did better on the white vote than John Kerry in 2004, just not in portions of the deep south. I'm willing to listen to other suggestions to explain these numbers. Ignorance? Stupidity maybe?
