Is it too much to ask that before an individual accepts their party's nomination for the Vice Presidency they actually take the time to learn what the position involves? No. It is not.

It was one thing when Palin's name was being mentioned by some in the press as a potential nominee for her to wonder what the Vice President's responsibilities are ... on a national newscast no less! Now, however, she has been her party's nominee for two months. Come on, she should know.

Now, most of us might be able to find the answer for ourselves, but apparently the good Governor has decided that she would just ask Dick Cheney. How else to explain her belief that the VP has any responsibilities in the Senate other than banging a gavel and casting a vote when there's a tie?

It was Dick Cheney that asserted the Vice Presidency was a part of the legislative branch of government. There is no reading of the constitution that would support this opinion, but Governor Palin doesn't appear to aim very high when looking for role models.

Ultimately, this goes to reinforce the Obama campaign's claim that a McCain/Palin administration would mirror the Bush administration. As for me, I think it would be even worse.
