Last night, John McCain showed exactly what he thinks of women and the decisions they make about their bodies.



John McCain is no different than any other Republican. He preaches "small government", but he would place government firmly in control of a woman's ability to make choices about her own body. I'm not sure this can be exaggerated, but John McCain claims that Barack Obama's opposition to a bill banning late term abortions because it didn't include an exception for the life of the mother is an extreme position. He's claiming Obama's position is the extreme position. Amazingly, there are people who have convinced themselves that McCain is, in fact, not anti-choice.

McCain's claim that Obama's position is extreme isn't even the most outrageous thing about the video. He actually mocks the idea of opposing the bill because of the health of the mother exception. This is extraordinary and I would hope that this would simply finish McCain's support with the vast majority of the women in this country.
